The Red Room - our guests At The Studio

West Bridgford Dramatic Society hosted Free Roam Theatre, who performed The Red Room on 29th November

We are lucky to have our own theatre, and we are now letting other groups benefit from our space.

Free Roam Theatre are a local theatre group already with strong links with WBDS. Ellie Ball - who performed The Red Room - has already performed this at 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. So we can benefit from Edinburgh quality material for one night only performed in our own Studio Theatre.

Liz Daly (Front of House and Lighting) said: "What a fantastic way to finish our autumn tour of The Red Room!  We loved bringing the show to West Bridgford's Studio Theatre last night - thank you to the lovely audience who came out to see us  Now it's time for a rest over Christmas before heading into a very exciting 2025 - there's a brand new show in the works so stay tuned!"

And Kev Castle said:

"The Studio Theatre is an ideal venue for this story as it's small and intimate and with just a few props to add to the storyline, you concentrate fully on Ellie's story telling skills. A scarf is used in several ways to depict the three elderly guardians, a torch creates unease and shadows, and the full length mirror almost distracts from flickers and images reflected, or are they also just in the mind of the narrator?"

If you are interested in booking our venue (and there are certain criteria that have to work for us - normally best immediately after our show week when the theatre is not yet full of set for the next show, you do your own lighting and sound and front of house and ticket sales), write to wbds@wbds.co.uk

WBDS run regular productions at their theatre on Stamford Road, West Bridgford.
